Marlin 1894 vs Henry Big Boy.

I’ve had both guns and yes their customer service is excellent. I broke two mag tubes in the 44 mag bronze big boy and they shipped replacements right away.

It was a very heavy and pretty gun. Sold it and got a marlin 1894 CBC which is much lighter, although not as well made as the Henry, it is much more functional.
Curious - how did you break the mag tubes? User error or defect? I could envision bending mine if not paying attention when inserting the rod in the mag tube and applying lateral force.

Best I can guess was the recoil was cracking them right long the little slot you turn the peg of the inner mag tube into.

The metal there on the one I had was quite flimsy

The magazine tubes on Winchester 94 Trapper in 44 magnum was a real concern. Energetic rounds elongated the locating position for the front screw that secured the magazine cap to the underside of the upper barrel.

Rossi experienced this same issue themselves with M92 in 454 Casull. The fix was threading the magazine tube to fit the front of the receiver.
