Ditto. I've been waiting for someone to post a review on this new batch of lever guns. Would be nice if the 1894C came out too.
 
...and here I just bought a Henry Big Boy .357 and a Rossi R92 in 45Colt. This'd be 44magnum for the tri-fecta if I had cash LOL

I've not had a Marlin in a long long time. Are these standard button rifled or do they still use microgroove? I shoot cast exclusively

They went back to ballard rifling for cast shooter.

Gravel Agency our new friend on CGN is the Remington/Marlin/Dpms/Bushmaster/H&R Representatives for Canada.

They are amazing people and we've had a great relationship with them for many years.
 
I bought the marlin hunter 1894 ss in 45-70 havent shot it yet but the lever on it is sooo tight i am not overly impressed as of yet same thing over all fit an finish still not up to snuff if i was you guys i would look for the older ones. Any opinions thought on others who have these newer models mine is the laminate stainless in 45-70
 
The ones I have came pre drilled with 4 holes on the top of the receiver. Temp screws are in them. Take them out and a little rail is bolted to receiver. That's it.

Those new early Marlins made by Remington usually need internal polishing and all the excess burrs taking out. I have done two of them for friends now, and it takes about 4-5 hours if done properly.

A professional gunsmith is a lot faster, can cost approximately $80.00-$100.00, depending on your gunsmith.

If you are mechanically inclined, or gunsmith inclined, you can do the work yourself. There are a couple of You-Tube Videos on this Marlin Internal Polishing.... :)

I would like to know what the quality control is like in these Marlin 1894 Rifles, both in the 44 Mag. and the 357 Mag. I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering on this issue. Is fit and finish excellent? Does cycling the action feel nice and smooth?
