Marlin 1895 GBL model...

We do the wwg ‘trigger happy’ kit and ‘bear proof ejector’ upgrade on all our Remlin leverguns.
We’d love to have one of the wwg 1895 custom takedowns.
I have relatives still living in ak and might make that happen.

Where can one get a safety delete and a cushioned recoil pad?

We ordered a couple from the company that makes the and lo and behold they arrived 2 weeks later surviving the gauntlet of cbp and cbsa inspectors who routinely pick them off the line and chuck them into the contraband bin legal or not.
Most of the stuff we ordered stateside made it through.
Running about 75% odds.

I got my XS Lever rail from Brownells. Safety delete - just use an appropriately sized O-ring, and you can effectively lock the safety in the fire position. Much easier than a real delete.

We like the real safety delete.
The gun looks better.
Guy we know from north bay ontario is a gun smith & welding specialist and removes the safeties from rossi 92s and marlin leverguns.
When he’s done you’d never know the gun ever had a safety.
He even gets the bluing match right.
He was charging $100 a gun a few years back.
Welding around gun receivers and barrels requires special knowledge and skill so you don’t crystallize the metal in pressure bearing areas.

You mentioned using "Peep" sights" as your eyes are getting a bit old so I'll let you in on something that helps A LOT. Get a rear Peep with an adjustable "IRIS", that is a peep that will permit opening/closing the diameter of the rear peep. What a difference it will make with your vision. I use to shoot with a fixed peep and long ago thought I could not continue to use peeps as my aging eyes would not "play". By using an "IRIS" (opens/closes) you should be able to get a VERY GOOD sight picture. An adjustable IRIS is well worth whatever the price is.

That's the same rail and sight system I went with on my GBL. In addition, I have a Hi-Lux 2-7x32 long eye relief scope. From a local friend and site member, that's hot & heavy into casting, I've obtained a wide selection of cast bullets. I also have acquired a small selection of jacketed, my favorite of which is the Remington 405gr.
