I was almost drooling over this baby when I entered into inventory...it's a real beauty. It deserves a good home.

The best Government I know of is the .45-70 Government!

Cheers,

Gary

It exists in the wild for sure. But it isn't on their website right now. Which means it probably is not in stock.

Personally, I would be very careful buying any Remlins online (even though wanstalls is awesome), since the fit and finish of every single 1895SBL's that I have handled in the last 2 years had been ####.

Sights misaligned, rough actions (or actions that feel like they will get stuck at any moment), ill-fitted stocks, etc.

I really hope the issues will be worked out soon (if they haven't already with the newest runs) because I realllyyyyyy want one.

You got me with this post!!!!.......I would buy one of these no problem at all. I have a new run Marlin 336W and I'm impressed with the fit and finish. The wood is perfect and it fits the receiver with no gaps. No issues at all with the sights or scope. It's their cheapest model so I'm not concerned with the action being a little rough. I can work on that myself. Now about the 1895SBL?.....

The original posting was from 2010...

I bought one of these from another supplier recently and they still had some I stock. By far the nicest level I've ever owned. Mine was flawless out of the box and after about 6 months of range time I haven't had a single issue.

Where'd you get yours? I might be in the market for one?

Friend of mine had one. Currently on the fence about buying one considering the hesitation around Remington/Marlin products... Would buy one if I knew I'd get a goodie.

Incidentally what's up with all these necrothreads? Has the zombie apocalypse started? *Begins hording ammo and beans*

I've got one... definatly a gorgeous gun... bought it off the ee on here was told it was jm stamped... turns out it was one of the first rem productions but fit and finnish is decent and it cycles smooth as silk... even smoother now after a lil polishing

Bought mine very gently used (about 20 rounds down the pipe) a few years ago for $850. The guy actually gave me the original receipt with it and the gun was worth about $960 new at the time. Now if I could just find some Lever Evolutions for it I'd be a very happy man. Found a couple boxes of Remington ammo but just cant justify the high cost for those.

glad that you guys r happy...I was very apprehensive about a remlin....I searched far and wide and found a original marlin 1895GS, and I love it :)

I do love how the remlins look...so between boyds, and a few other aftermarket parts....am now set up....and after more than a little hassle.......I cannot wait for rifle season this year :)

Glad to see im not the only one looking for it. If someone would bring a few over im sure they would go pretty fast.

Edit: gagnon sport has one for $1349. This is TWICE the price of the GBL. Jurassic park effect? Might end up getting a GBL instead for 700 bucks

I don't think Jurassic world did anything to increase the price I think it's just the supply and demand and the bad canadian dollar. I did think it was bad ass in that movie though haha .

Why didn't they make the sight rail stainless? The black rail totally looks like #### on this gun amd takes away from all the beautiful stainless and gorgeous stock this has deterred me from buying
