Marlin 30A 30-30

Would like to find out what a Marlin 30A 30-30 is worth, new and looks unfired, no marks and in mint condition, scope mounted is a Tasco and new.built 1982 according ser#.Thanks for looking.

I believe that's similar to the Glenfield model.
The metal is suppose to be the same.
They just skimped on the wood and no barrel band, jest the fore wood metal cap
at the front.
Usually sell a wee bit less than the regular Marlinski's.
Maybe a brown one.
Given the time of year, you may sqweek it in there for value.

Yes it is the Glenfield model with full length tube.

Glenfield 30A is the same workings as the Marlin 336W but no barrel band (a plus IMO). Gun value is about $300 plus a little for the scope.

The 30as was Marlin's entry level lever of the day.Stained hardwood stocks and no front sight ramp.They were marketed to department stores and Chrysler dealers in some locales were giving them away with truck purchases in the 80's for a while.They sold them bare and in a package with a cheap 4x scope and made them into the early nineties iirc. The function every bit as good as a 336. Although some try to get 336 money for them on the used market, a more realistic value is $300-350 in your stated condition and incrementally less for used( based on condition).

I paid 350 for my Glenfield 30a with tasco 4x scope on it. 1982 model no crossbolt safety, scope was junk and I replaced it with a Vortex diamondback 2-7 x 35. Nice shooting gun , very accurate, I'm happy with it.

Thanks guys, if I keep this Marlin the first thing that will go is the scope, talked to the original owner and friend today and he has never put a round in it, just never bought any bullets for it.
