Nice rifle first one I have seen in what looks like stainless steel. It is a shame Marlin went through some troubled times after the Remington takeover. These are an excellent design that worked at any temperature -40 no problem. Good sights and heavy robust stock. Don't get much better for a lever gun. I guess it was only a question of time before the Remington workers got a handle on the tooling and came up to the Marlin standard of manufacture. All their troubles could have been avoided but the gods of finance never learn. The take over was handled in a very stupid fashion. The workers who knew how to build these rifles were fired and the tooling was basically ripped out of the plant and sent to the Remington plant. There was sabotage which was bound to happen when people are treated like garbage. But for us shooters the problem seems to be fixed and in the end that is what counts. Good luck with your nice looking rifle.
