Marlin 336 in .35 Rem

So does anyone know which dealers stock this, or who would be willing to order one in, wont have the funds to purchase for at least 3 months so it's not exactly a huge rush, but the information would help greatly. Thanks in advance guys.
 
I bought mine at Wholesale Sports, an outdoor outfitters in Saskatoon. Luckily, they had one when I went in. I haven't seen any at any smaller gun shops or gun shows I've been to.

I wish you the best of luck finding one though. I love mine :)
 
I've always wondered why the 336 in 35 rem is as scarce as hen's teeth yet you can find it in 30-30 everywhere. No one seems to be stocking this caliber yet all the replies of those that have one prefer it over the 30-30. I don't get it.

I think the guys who occupy this space are generally more in the know about guns and ballistics therefore they have a more informed opinion. Ask the average occasional deer hunter about a .30/30 and chances are he's used one or knows someone who has one.Not so with the .35 or literally dozens of other rounds. Like you said the .30/30 is everywhere mainly because it was the most common chambering in the most popular sporting rifle ever made.

35Rem in 336Marlin is very good combination. Very, very cast bullet friendly (especially the one with Ballard rifling) to the point that jacketed bullets 200gr and over, offer no advantage what so ever. You can plink all day for pennies per shot. Try to get used one in good condition for half the price if money is short. They are build to last for generations.

Availability, cost and variety of ammo.
There are lots of companies loading 30-30 with a variety of bullets.
The cost of a box of 30-30 is usually quite a bit lower than 35 Remington.
Almost every ammo retailer stocks 30-30. Not as many stock 35 Remington.

And the 30-30 works great on Whitetail.
 
my father has a 336 in 35 remington and if i'm lucky he lets me borrow it now and then but i'm saving my pennies till the summer so i can get one before fall. i think ellwood epps has some. check out their site. the only downfall with these rifles is that ammo is alot harder to find than the 30-30 and it's usually going for about 35$ a box. just stock up on ammo whenever you get a chance and you'll be ok. i usualy buy 5 or 6 boxes at a time and that'll last for 3-5 years depending on how much you shoot.
 
Also check the used racks in the local gunstore(s). If the guy behind the counter is not familiar with the .35 he may no know its value or its capabilities.I bought a used marlin 336 in .35 in NIB condition for $425 in Calgary.
