Marlin 336 lever unlocking is a pain!!!

Hi!


I got thast marlin 336 that is really hard to open, this rifle is near new and it looks somewhat stiff from the factory but unlocking the lever is a real pain... Can someone help me to get that rifle reliable??

Possibly the spring loaded 'latch' that holds the lever closed needs lubrication?

I will try but this part is really stiff

Lightly tap on it with a small hammer... bounce the plunger a few times with oil around it...

tap out the little pin, polish the face of the latch pin with crocuses cloth, cut 1/2 to a 1/4 of a loop of the coil spring off. Keep cutting till you get it the way u like it.
