Marlin 336 or Winchester 94???

I like the Marlin I have owned 1/2 dozen of each Win94's and Marlin 336, Marlin 30AS.

My vote go's +1 Marlin 336

I got Winchesters and Marlins both; like both, but love the Marlin a whole heck of a lot more. My two Marlin 336 lever 30-30's are the first two I grab out of my safe when my dad and I are hunting.

Don't know about which is easier to mount a scope on, as mine have either iron or peep sights. Like said by others, I'm not knocking Winchester; if I didn't like them, I would've sold the rifles that I own made by them. I just like the feel and make of the Marlins' more.

Marlin

Recently bought the wife her first gun, a Marlin 336 in 30-30, had a recoil pad put on it, the result is it kicks like a .22. She loves it.
Never owned a Winchester lever, have shot one, I didn't see anything wrong with it. I've always been primarily a Browning rifle guy, but I've gotta admit, this Marlin's a darn nice gun with some nice features. It shoots nice tight groups using hornady 170gr interlocks and 4198 powder. Haven't found the right load for the 150gr's yet.
Guess my vote would be for the Marlin, too.
