Marlin 39a scope base question

Would anyone know the best place to source a steel scope base for a Marlin 39a (pre-1975). I tried Western gun parts and they only carry the weaver base. Thanks.

IIRC, any base will have to be a side mount which means drilling and tapping.

The Weaver base is good and solid but may have to be removed to access the open sights.

The model number is 90.

Make sure you save the filler screws . . .

My original Marlin 39A had the marlin rail.

Tag for interest... the Weaver base (while functional) is not very pretty.
