Anyone ever used one of these? Someone wants to sell me one and I thought it may make a nice addition to the collection.

I have had two of them and wish I had them both back. I handloaded 300 grain Speer soft points and devestated moose with them. Fantastic caliber.

A very nice rifle/caliber combo especially for chasing elk on horseback. Plenty of punch for elk, probably more than enough for deer in thick cover. One of my favourite. The leather bullet sleeve on mine is a nice suitable addition too. I have two more in all black if you're interested, PM me.

Thanks saskcop. I've taken a variety of elk with a variety of calibers. None has ever dropped so hard and fast as this one taken with the .444. It truly is hard hitting, although shot placement did impart the kill. No gun has ever fitted my rifle scabbard as well and stood up to the task as well. I'm obviously very partial to it as it it a true "western" gun.
