Marlin 45-70 guide gun

I've never considered one of these as a pack gun and have opted towards the $300 Chinese shotgun but now I am interested :p


How much do these firearms sell for and are they seen on the EE often? I can only imagine the ammunition is costly lol.

I ended up trading my blued 1895 guide gun to another cgner after only having it for a month. He traded me for his 1895 gbl. I love the gbl, and took her out for a sight in and to destroy my shoulder.

Same gun different finish. The SBL adds the XS Rail.

I've wanted a guide gun for awhile...
The GBL in stainless would be good, if it had a straight stock...
The SBL... No offense but if you want to hang light and lasers why not get a synthetic stock with it (or paint the wood...)
Myself, I'd like to see them market a 6 shot stainless laminate (grey) with a straight stock, large loop and tritium sights (ghost ring rear- both with wings), then I'd source out the leather trim.
Perhaps I'll just have to go custom...

Thanks. I did go there before I posted and all I found was a bunch of templates in various sizes. Since I don't have my SBL yet I have no idea of the stock dimensions. Any help would be appreciated. Perhaps I missed a section where they specified SBLs?
 
I have only ordered grind to fit pads from them so have no idea what pad would fit your rifle I'd just call them and ask...

I've spoken to them before and they were very helpful.
