Marlin 45-70 guide gun

Yes, I will just have to be patient and get the gun in hand first. Sometimes I like to get these things on order so they arrive at the same time. I appreciate your help Camp Cook. And I might be asking you about fitting "grind to fit" butt pads one of these days. ;)

It sounds like the Kick-Eez are good people to deal with and I will give them a call when the time comes.

In the meantime, for anyone looking for an SBL, I have been contact with Wholesale and Epps this morning and the word is the next shipments will start coming through mid to late January. Lets just hope Remington/Marlin hasn't screwed up the laminate stocks as badly as they have the plain stocked guns.

This is my 1895SBL with the 6 round magazine, I think the full length mag does look better. Balance doesn't seem to be affected when it's full, and I load 450 grain hard casts.

Who made your buttstock cartridge carrier???

Stand down - I read the rest of the thread...

Grind to fit is easier than you would think... just place the recoil pad into the freezer overnight, tape the butt stock so when you grind you do not touch the wood, screw pad into place on the stock, cut any major excess off with a saw and finish with a grinder.

Perfect, thanks again for the help.
