Marlin 60 DLX for 289$!!

They are a good rifle for the money. I picked one up about 5 years ago because my grandson was using my 795, then the wet years came and we don't have many gophers anymore. The rifle hasn't been shot in the past 2 years, think maybe we will have to fix that. Mine is a little picket on ammo, but it seems to like the Federal 550 bulk pack.

I like the last shot hold open feature on semis and the release with the little button on 10/22 I didn't like. I know there is mods to make it better but it kind of irritated me so it got traded away.

Might have been that guy that had 2 for sale in the EE;)

Lucky for me I went last night to get a price adjustment to the $199 price. Looked today at the website and price is back to $289 and sold out everywhere is seems.

Probably was... but on the bright side I just picked up an XT- V in 17 HMR for 219 from Bass Pro.

Those scope rings probably won't hold for long. THe scope will start to walk back. The cure is a UTG Medium air gun scope ring. $20. on Amazon.

I had Burris rimfire rings on mine. Never moved at all.

I heard the semiauto Marlins don't do too well with high velocity ammo . it beats the action up . can anyone shed some light on the story I heard about this ?? you are susposed to put some sort of a buffer in the back of the reciever. not so with the Ruger 10/22. I was thinking about getting one of those Marlins with the tube under the barrel till heard about this issue.

It says in the manual hyper velocity shouldn't be used in them. High velocity is fine though. That's all I shoot in mine.

My wife bought me a stainless laminate 60 last year. Trigger is like dragging a wheel barrel full of bowling balls through sand but it sure is attractive. Its fed me a few times now!!

Yeah the triggers are horrible, same with the 795. I own both and have done trigger jobs myself on both of them with excellent results. There is a lot of info at rimefire central among other places if you're comfortable doing stuff like that.

I do a bit of light "smithin" and will look into this. Thanks

The action on the 1022s is nicer and stronger looking but for 1/2 the price the Marlin 60s and 795s are a bargain. They are also more accurate out of the box than 1022s generally. The last shot hold open is a big plus too.
