My son owns a Marlin MODEL 60,bought the cheap $168.00 rifle from S.I.R came with a crappy airgun scope which was not installed.Other then we had to sand the stock down to a more appealling design it is a great little rifle. His cousin owns a 10/22 which is a nice little gun too,but myself I prefer the Marlin, seems to out shoot the Ruger with any ammo, has yet to jam(the 10/22 stove bolts CCI Blazers quite often). The Ruger has better factory sights,is lighter and easier to load. But like I said the Model 60 is half the price ,very accrate and shoots most any ammo without jamming and I prefer the porportion of the 60 with heavier barrel and longer stock, also like the last shot hold open.I believe either rifles will serve you well ,just the Marlin 60 for $168.00 from S.I.R is a better value.
