The Marlin 7000 has a last shot bolt open feature. Is it ok to store it with the bolt open? I've been closing the bolt and dry fireing it to take pressure off friing pin spring
I know, I know, bad joo-joo. There must be a way to close the bolt without dry firing for storage. Any advice?
Edit to add:
I found this at rimfirecentral
"pull back on the handle, moving back about 1/8 of an inch, pull the trigger while holding the bolt back. The firing pin does not hit the rim of the chamber, even if it makes contact, not enought force to do any harm."
What do ya think?
