Hi marlin owners

I just see different opinion on Promag magazine and reliability. But seems to be ok for the Marlin 795.

Just want to know if the new Promag 25 round magazine work with the feature : < Last Shot Bolt Hold Open >

thanks

I have a half dozen of them, use them in my 795 and Papoose.

The mags all feed 100% reliable in both of my guns, however the last shot bolt hold open almost never activates. They do have the tab that should catch it, but I'm guessing the spring is just a bit too weak for the follower to get up in time to catch the bolt, because if I cycle the gun manually after the last shot, the bolt will catch.

Still use them extensively. 25 rounders are pretty much mandatory where I shoot gophers (target rich environment).

I have a Marlin 70 without last shot bolt catch and my best friend has a Marlin 795. We each have 2 of these 25rd Promags. The bolt catch has never engage with any of the 4 mags we have. We find the reliability sketchy with either rifle with any of the mags. Both rifles work 100% with almost any ammo (Winchester M22 misfires in most 22's we have) from any of the 8 metal 7rd and 10rd Marlin brand mags we have. with the Promags we see about 2 jams a mag on average. Sometimes we go a few mags without a jam. Other times every other round. Even with good cleaning and CCI minimag.

Probably not what you want to hear but that's we we have fond over the last few years we had them. We never take them out to shoot anymore. IMHO you should pass on them.

Any leads to where I can order these mags would be appreciated. I love my 795 but 10 rounds just isn't cutting it. Thx.
