Marlin 795 opinion please

No,they weren't available in the 795, at first although it asn't dificult to modify the available model 60 stock, all I did was attach the floor plate, trace out the place for the box magazine ,then drill and carefully chisel and sand it to fit.Everything else is the same and the empty tube channel acts as free floating the barrel

Installed my new Mcarbo Spring Kit in the 795 today. Wow. Big change in trigger pull. Not cheap for 4 small springs but it does work. Good thing You Tube has the installation covered. Took me about an hour. Got a chance to really clean the guts at the same time. Shot it later too. Thanks for recommending it.

I've got the Mcarbo spring kit but haven't had the confidence to actually install it...looked at the U -Tube tutorial a couple if times..

Do you use needle nose pliers ?thanks on the reassurance of 'nothing goes flying',that was one of my main concerns ,I was stripping down and cleaning a new Jw20 and the spring guide flew off, never found it again...

I went to Princess Auto and bought a small pair of needle nose pliers and a couple of picks like in the video. Worked great for getting those small clips off.

After shooting about 200 rounds on my 795 with the Mcarbo kit, the rifle stopped working. Seems like hammer follow. Can't physically #### the gun. The hammer doesn't seem to stay back, so it can't fire. Cycles fine manually. Haven't had a chance to take it apart yet. Any ideas, chime in. Thanks.

Turns out it was some grit behind the actual trigger. The hammer was cocked all along but the trigger wasn't releasing it. Cleaned out and running 100% again.

Well. They aren't bad. Trigger needs work for sure.
Irons are plain but work. Cycled everything.
With a 4x scope I was getting around 1.5" at 50yrds off the hood of the truck.
Oddly enough. It likes them cheep junk bucket-o-bullets the best.

For a 200$ gun I'm happy.
