I have both a full mod 10-22 and a stock Remington 597 HB 22LR, Black Synthetic Stock, 10 Rd Mag & Scope ($279.95 ) from SFRC .
The Remington 597 HB & Scope is amazing tack driver at less than half the cost of a Ruger Target ( HB ) $ 600.00 + and a Ruger 10/22 22LR, Black Synthetic Stock, Fibre Sights $309.99
or the Ruger 10/22 Carbine $309.99 ( Listed on FSRC web site )
Ruger is a great gun but does not deliver down range like the Remington with out putting a lot more money into it with add on's .
If tricking out your rifle is your thing then the 10-22 is the way to go but if you want accuracy out of the box at a low cost , Remington is your choice .
Either way they both great rifles and will perform very well for years to come .
