Marlin 795 poor accuracy

The grouping is off a bench and with different shooter also. I did want to get the Tech sights but good luck finding someone that sells them in Canada. I know I can get them from the states but I dont really want to spend half the cost of the rifle itself just to still have it shoot like its bent lol

Try putting a WTB ad in the EE. Thats how I got my Tech sights for my 795, and the guy gave me a very reasonable price too!

As for your accuracy problem, my guess is an extremely lead filled barrel... Although, I would like to ask a few questions.

1) Did you buy the gun new, or is it used?
2) Has it always shot this poorly?

Hi Yes I got the gun new and from day one it was poor

Have you done any trigger work, like Arrowdodger mods ? I have a 2014 Mayfield Model-60 and the trigger was about 5-6 lbs. when I bought it last year (NIB-an unused closet queen). I did most of the Arrowdodger mods and got the trigger down to about 2-3#. I was just out y-day and shot 8 diff brands of SV & HV. The worst was about 3" (Herters bulk HV) and the best was under 1" for 5-shot groups (S&B SV). I only shot 15-30 of each brand so not really definitive, but a good idea of what it likes. And it was 1-2*C with a 5-10mph tail wind that prob pushed them around a bit. Also, as was said you should check the muzzle and maybe run a brush on a drill in the chamber a few seconds. Could be you have 'Carbon Ring' clogging the leade. If you know someone with a borescope you should look inside. Those are only about $70 on Amazon - Teslong 0.2" diameter - lets you know how well (or not) you're cleaning.

I'll check that out thanks

its a dud , should be a tack driver

This is what I would do too. Assuming the Remington bankruptcy hasn't impacted the ability to use the warranty? (And assuming its not Gretch Outdoors, they're literally the worst).

I thought the condition and accuracy got worse. But since he said it was like that since new.. Nothing going to change. Why when I bought Marlins, it was pre rem lins.
