I have a Marlin 795 with synthetic stock. The stock is too short for my liking. Other than forking out bucks on a Boyds laminate stock are there any other fixes anyone could suggest?
Thanks...

Not too familiar with the Marlin 795 with the synthetic stock. Can the butt plate be unscrewed and removed. If so, a nice Walnut or other fine wood spacer could be made if you are a bit handy with wood working tools, or know someone who is. The alternative is to have a thick recoil pad put on it.

Going from memory (not my best resource)and a model 60, the butt is screwed in, AND fitted very snugly. You could certainly add a chunk 'o' lumber on the end.

If you're anywhere near me, fir off a PM, as I keep any chunks of stock I shorten (M'boy is still growing, and they'll go back on one day).

Just a heads up before you go out to buy a slip on recoil pad for your Marlin. The stock is smaller than most rifle stocks so the recoil pad may not stay on.
