Need advice on what the best fix is for a scope that starts to walk on the infamous 3/8 dove tail groove. Want to mount a Bushnell Banner scope on a 795, but heard of the problems associated with the flimsy grooves most 22s have. I saw a picatinny rail made buy DIP down in the states.

Only problem is they won't ship to Canada, and I can't find a supplier up here for them. Are there any good Canadian solutions? Should I just get the Tech Sights and forget the scope mounting issues? The stock sights are crap.

If there is a good solution to mount a scope on a 795 without it coming loose and having to zero it all the time, what are your thoughts on the Bushnell Banner series? Was thinking to get the 1-4X32 or 1.5-4.5x32. Also, I'm assuming the main tube body is 1", correct? Is this a good value rimfire scope? Maybe you guys have some other suggestions. Really want something with parallax set at 50yds.

Thanks guys,

Tech sights don't ship to Canada either... But the fix I use is to put a small dab of clear silicone in the groove where the saddle mounts. You can alternately use a spot of blue loktite. I also find using good rings makes all the difference, cheap fitco rings slide all over the place but my weaver steel tipoff rings are solid and don't move.

You are correct to assume that the scope tube is 1" on the banner series which I find to be a good quality scope, it's what I have on my Papoose.

I had the same problem on 7000 got bkl rings problem solved.

What type of mount did you get? Did you get a dovetail to picatinny adapter for it and supplied your own choice of rings? Or did you get a solid 1-piece mount with rings? Do they ship to Canada, or are they able for purchase from a Canadian retailer?

I hate being ignored on account of our small market. Really wanted those Tech Sights on another model. Whats a good place to pick up these weaver steel tip-off rings from? Any preferred brand?

BTW? What magnification do you have on your Banner out of curiosity?

I feel your frustration, I also want a set of tech sights for my 60. Weaver is the company who makes the steel tip off rings that work with a 1"'tube and 3/8"'dovetail. You can find them at most any good gunshop, I got mine at wholesale sports.

My Papoose wears an older banner with 1.5-4x magnification and has a post and crosswire reticle. Very clear scopes for the money.

Isn't that a contradiction? lol

Anyways OP. On my 795SS i have a bushnell banner 4x scope. It came with rings. I've never had it move and i'm not overly gentle. Af ew times that scope has been used as a carry handle and it still stays put and holds it's zero. I have a cheap dovetail to picatinny adapter i used to mount a red dot on it, but i liked the scope better. PM me if you're interested in it.
