Marlin 995

(I just sold my .22 because it had a tube magazine and I wanted a detachable.)

There's a Marlin 995 on offer in a local shop for $130, used, appears to be in good serviceable condition. If anyone with experience of this model knows reasons to avoid it, I'd like to hear about them. Thanks.

hehe i told my friend to buy that gun too(i saw it on friday), but i don't know anything about them either. the marlinowners forum would probably have some info on them.

Well I decided not to. Didn't look at the scope that was on it, but whatever it is, the price is too close to what Wholesale Sports offers for a new model 795, which I picked up today. (And Wholesale had a Savage 64 with wood stock not well cared for, extremely reluctant magazine release, and rear sight missing, asking $130, while they list a new 64F for under $170!)
