Hi.

I'm thinking of upgrading from the standard iron sights on my Marlin 1894 in .44mag. My options seem to be Williams and XS receiver sights. Any opinions on these or other iron sights? I'd like to keep my gold bead front sight. Also if you know of a good source for these, I'd like to know.

Thanks, Steve

Edited to add: Just found lots of info using the Search, sorry.

You can also try out the Lyman receiver sights. I've got one on my 336CS and its the cat's @ss! I prefer peep sights over the standard "buckhorn" type - so it was a welcome addition to my rifle. I didn't bother changing out the front sight as it seems to be working well without any modification...

hsld.

Oh yeah, I got mine from Wholesale Sports a couple of years ago and I do believe they still carry them (about $100 IIRC)... HTH's...

I've found that I would need a Williams 5D-95/36. I checked on the Williams website to see if my .375" front site would work with it or if I would need a taller one. The models of 1894 that they have in the chart don't really mesh with the markings on my gun. Anyone have any problems with their factory front sight used with a Williams on their Marlin?

I have a williams receiver peep sight on my guide gun and love it. Front site stays the same. It is great for quick aiming and cane be knocked out of alignment as easily!

Update:
Received sight installed. With rear sight at lowest setting the rifle shoots at point of aim at 25-100m. Excellent.:)
