I'm trying to date a rifle for a buddy of mine. It seems that he may or may not have a "transition" Marlin before the debauchery of the Marlin brand. The barrel stamp is "JM" and the serial # is on the small piece of metal on the buttstock. The rifle is a Marlin 308MX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
