Marlin bolt action rifle

Yes they did! The model 322 was introduced in 1954 in .222 Rem. The 422 was the same rifle with a 24 inch stainless featherweight barrel. 6,213 of these two were produced. The 455 was introduced in 1955 in 30/06 and later in .308. Only 406 rifles were made in 30/06 and 56 in 308. The MR-7 was introduced in 1996. It has the bolt face of a Model 700, the safety of a model 70, a model 70 type trigger and an A bolt type magazine. It was available in 30/06 and .270. and was discontinued in 1999. Currently, Marlin only makes bolt action .22's.

The MR-7 was also made in 25-06 and 280 Rem...there was also an economy version..the MR-7B...with a birch stock and blind magazine....the Models 322 and 422 were actually Sako L46 actions barrelled by Marlin with MicroGroove barrels.

I didn't know they made the MR-7 in .280 Rem. I'd buy one of those! A friend had one in .270 in his shop. Excellent fit and finish; I really liked that rifle. I am a bit puzzled why they never sold.
