Marlin Canadian Tactical Troop

Well I'm doing it too! After the Remington and Savage bandwagons (clubs), I believe it only fair that the Marlin lever guns be formed into a troop. The word club is too exclusive for my taste, a troop is so much cuddlier!

I just purchased a Marlin from the exchange forum and am asking all of fellow Marliner's to join my troop.

We could make t-shirts and logo's, or use our money to shoot more.

So come on feel the heat, join the Marlin "Lever Revolution" (tm).

Our moto: "They may be more accurate a longer distances, but we make bigger holes!"

Cheers, Troutseeker
Just purchased my first firearm and also got it off the EE and it is a Marlin 336, so i'll join the club.I'll take a shirt as well.

I'll join the club too ... just got my first .45-70 last week. Looking forward to big bangs and big holes! Put me down for a t-shirt too.

And my 336 in .30-30 gets no argument from the deer every year. Don't need "tactical" under 150 and if you can't get closer than that it's not hunting.

Oh! I remember the original reason now!
The reason we named the Remington Tactical club the "Remington Tactical Club" was because it was for people with LE designed, LE used Remington rifles, like the 700P, 700LTR, M24, M40, etc. Same with the Savage club (as far as I know). As far as I know there aren't any LE designed Marlin rifles, but from what I hear LE has used them in the past, so go for it.

My 1894SS in .44mag packs 10 in the tube and does fast tactical reloads between vollies.
It's also stainless but with walnut stocks...

Interesting, the RCMP uses Winchester's for their sniper rifles. Does anyone want to start a Winchester tactical club? Once we also get a Weatherby, Ruger, Cooey, Kimber, etc... We'll have most of the manufacturer's covered. Ooops I forgot Kalishnikov, Fabrique Nationale, and I'm sure a few more...

Well boys and girls, I took the plunge, 1895 cb long range sniper variant 45/70 tactical rifle. Damn... there's something down right evil about an octagonal barrel. Now I need some "old school" tactical peeps.

Oh ya, and load recipes would be appreciated as well, especially for those extra long range 200 yd sniper shots, and of course at-shirt as well.

Well I should have my new to me 45/70 this coming week. I'll make sure to post pictures (maybe even "Tactical" ones).

Now to think of suitable upgrades for the rifle, where do I start???

I'll tell you where to start. I've got an old gun rag, uh mag around here with a write up on the 1895's. Seems a fellow has gotten around to beefing these things up. Textured synthetic stocks, shortened barrels and parkerized finishes. He rebarrels them to .50 Alaskan. It also has XS sights. You wan't tactical? That does it. Personally, I think that might just be the perfect rifle as a go anywhere, anytime and kill anything rifle. Indoors or out.:runaway:

good idea for You Guide gun guys and your cqt marlins, us sniper variant guys need something to hang off the tang, or on top of the receivers forward of those ###y 26 inch barrels.
