Well I'm doing it too! After the Remington and Savage bandwagons (clubs), I believe it only fair that the Marlin lever guns be formed into a troop. The word club is too exclusive for my taste, a troop is so much cuddlier!

I just purchased a Marlin from the exchange forum and am asking all of fellow Marliner's to join my troop.

We could make t-shirts and logo's, or use our money to shoot more.

So come on feel the heat, join the Marlin "Lever Revolution" (tm).

Our moto: "They may be more accurate a longer distances, but we make bigger holes!"

Making a Marlin "tactical" troop is a disgrace to all other tactical troops. That's basically the same thing as calling a fishing rod "tactical".

I don't think it's allowed to be called tactical unless it's wearing this:

Ok, since these clubs are TACTICAL: when, to ANYONE here's knowledge, has someone EVER seen anything REMOTELY resembling a lever-action being used in a "tactical" situation by police, military, etc.? I'm not talking Cowboy movies (BTW Brokeback Mountain totally ruined that...).

Actually the Marlin and Winchester 30-30's were issued to The Pacific Coast Militia Rangers during WW 2. All the able bodied men were off in Germany then Japan got involved leaving our West Coast vulnerable. The Militia members were loggers fishermen etc. working all up and down the coast that worked at war critical jobs but also had to train and serve as coast watchers and guerrilla type war defense if Japan tried to make a landing.

Hell yeah! I',m all over that one too. Own several Rugers, my Mini14 was pretty dang accurate like MOBD (minute of barn door). Plus my 5" Super Redhawk popping .300 grain bullets is the perfect room clearing gun!

Ever notice how accurate and efficient a Marlin 45/70 is? I can shoot one hole which easily covers what takes you tactical Remi and Savages 4 o 5 bullets to fill. Pathetic!

Dont forget the anticant stuff, the bipod, the forward mounted infrared sonar light, the 20 moa base and the bunny antenna. I am in the wrong business, I should be supplying the Remington/Savage their pricy accessories, then I'd be rich!!!

Anyone for sand socks to raise/lower the butt stock by simply squeezing or releasing? I make these special for snipers, they come in black (formal) or green (not so formal) colours. $55 each plus shipping and GST/PST.

You obviously misunderstand the term "tactical". The SMLE is capable of providing accurate fire in conditions that would leave a Remington 700 broken and crying.

The "T" model Enfields , sure were tactical rifles, IMHO.
Scoped up sniper rifles with a cheek extension, designed for precsion shooting?
If that ain't tactical I don't know what is, except the term "tactical" is so overused and a catch phrase these days , any way.
