I have a Marlin Glenfield model 70 that I have had for quite a few years.

The problem this gun has had pretty much since I bought it is that when shooting the next shell won't load in properly, it jams.
Looking into the chamber you can see that the shell is now coming out of the mag. and going into the chamber all the way. The slide seems to jam on the shell.

I don't know if I have explained it well. I don't know all the proper terms to use describing what is happening.

So anyway I am thinking I might need to get a new magazine. I only have one anyway so I am thinking I should try it anyway.

Do you guys know of anyplaces to find these mags? I have talked to all the local gun shops and have found one place that will order me one for $40.

Thanks guys.
Matt

Marlins are not prone to jamming. What ammo are you using? Semi-auto are sometimes picky with regard to ammo they will cycle. Try different brands, standard and high velocity.

Maybe the rifle needs a little cleaning and lubing?

Got the same rifle and info from another forum says that mags are the same as used on the current Marlin 795. I was thinking of ordering them from the Marlin factory for about $20 each.

BTW, I have no issues with my one magazine, as the rifle cycles perfectly with standard and hi-vel Winchester bulk ammo.
Handles better than my Marlin 60s, YMMV. They are really accurate with their Micro-groove barrels.

My Marlin 990l has had thousands thru her and never a skipped beat. Every 500 or so shots and I lightly clean the action. As for accurate...well I shoot it to over 100 yards and have not been disappointed...hitting them all...NOT....but accurate enough to keep me very happy.
