I like the look of the large loop lever.
I wish the view from my back door was that nice too!
I wish Marlin would break the mould and come out with a 50-110.
Maybe Davey will let me try his this year.

Is the Marlin recoil pad adequate or are there more effective ones out there?...

pharaoh2 said:Your just as pathetic as me. I take my Nosler #5 everywhere with me as well. I even read it in bed and on the can!As for the pistol grip, the guide gun comes in a straight grip. The pistol grip is a standard 1895. The straight grip is supposed to be a bit quicker to bring into action. I like them, but i like the look of the standard rifle better. there may be one of these in my near future. But i'll say right now, the only mod she'll get is a low power variable of some flavour with QD rings.

Nope, bought it from another CGN, and don't know if he was the first owner.
I notice the one in huntinstuff's post has the PG and no checkering, but I can't see the end of the barrel..

And my scam was working.........until the big guy with the sharp eye came along............good for you. It is a 444.
I read the post wrong....I thought it was "guide's gun"......
Overall I'm pleased with my GS but I would prefer the curved lever and pistol grip butt stock.Holleyman said:![]()
Not a Guide Gun, but I love my new XLR!
I might have bought a GG if it wasn't for the straight cowboy stock, I love the pistol grip.
