Well done sir.
Proper material selection and heat treat are only intimidating until you have actually put your hand to it.
I'll bet there is no stopping you now, is there?

Nicely done.

I've got a new CPA spring for a Stevens 44 that I need to anneal, reshape and retemper. Brownell has great videos and instructions.
If I didn't already have a spring I would have ordered the same as you used.

Thanks I found the temper stage a bit tricky as even in a big tiger torch flame it didn’t colour all the same rate and I had to take it out and sort of touch it up from the other end before overheating some of it. I was thinking I should have made about three of them since it’s hard to do consistent but it seems to be hanging in there

In my early days I messed up no end of tediously made springs by trying to torch temper them. There is just no way to get an even heat. When the stars align right, and if you hold your mouth just the right way it can work, as your efforts show.
I went to tempering in a lead bath. That was in the early 70's and I've used no other method since.
The usual safety caveats apply to working with lead.
