I'm using the Micro T-1 from Aimpoint on both the AKM and the 1895G

The rifle is now in the capable hands of David Clements of Clements Custom Guns in Virginia USA.
I will post a range report with pictures once it has been returned to me.
 
I've shot an awful lot of heavy loads in marlin 45/70s that kick like hell, the most important addition, in my opinion, is a larger loop lever, or your hands will catch hell, esp. when they are cold and wet. I'd trade 5 pickle-tinny mounts for 1 large loop lever if it were me!
 
It seems that Marlin has taken the suggestions and but together a rifle with most of the goodies. My personal preference has been a pistol grip stock rather than a straight grip. I do have a couple with straight grips though.

The large lever loop is on my work order with Clements :)
