Marlin Model 60

Only parts I've seen needing replacement on Model 60s were the buffer and the firing pin.
Probably no longer true because of business changes, but at one time there were more Model 60s in circulation than 10-22s.
Model 60s and their box magazine fed siblings are excellent rifles.

Cool! I'll start looking for a scope once I'm allowed to be in the EE...

Ellwood Eps has Simmons 4x32 Silver scopes for $20. I believe I have the black counterpart to this optic (the SKU on Epps doesn't exist, can't confirm) and it has been excellent. Not the best target optic, but a really good hunting option. It has survived unbelievable temperature changes and some rough and tumble use.

I've had a few of the Marlin 795s (Same gun only box-magazine fed), 2 blued and one stainless. Really decent guns for the money, last 795 I bought was @ SAIL store, $129 on sale and I think I had a $25 gift certificate too! lol

Anyhow-I'd have 2 suggestions about these guns, first already covered-off about not over-tightening the screws.. Second would be considering an MCARBO spring kit to make the trigger a bit nicer. I'm inclined to fling that suggestion around, but if it's not something you're comfortable doing...maybe seek the assistance of someone more experienced and/or a gunsmith. It's a little fussier a job than most spring upgrades to triggers.

PS-never loved tube magazines, but I do find the Marlin 60s to be more handsome looking than the 795s. If I was walking through the bush hunting rabbits or grouse, I'd want a 60 for sure. The walnut-stocked ones that came out a few years back=top pick for me if/when the time comes.

I bought a Marlin 60SB off the EE a few years ago and it's been so fun. Came with tech sights mounted. If you want a speed loader, check out the Ludex tubular magazine speed loader from Amazon.

Dont over tighten screws or you risk cracking the trigger guard. The previous owner of mine did, so I upgraded to a DI Products metal trigger guard... solid upgrade.
