Hi all!
I've an uncle who has an old model 80 with a broken extractor. I'm not familiar with this model myself. Anyone have much experiance with these .22's? Any suggestions on where we could find an extractor for it?
Thanks.

The Marlin 80-series are quality rifles. You could try Western Gun Parts or Numrich, but I bet you could get one off the EE as well. I wonder if the extractor from a Glenfield 25 would work too, I believe they are similar rifles.

Thanks for replying MBBlaster.
I'll put a want ad on the EE. I did a search last night before posting this topic, but only recieved hits for "Marlin" and "model", not Marlin model 80. I had gone back 36 months in the search but maybe I'm not linking the words together. ?
For a little more info, I don't have the rifle here. My uncle lives several hrs. away, but my father had brought the bolt here. As I said before, I'm not familiar with this model. (wish I had the rifle here too)
The extractor is a spring steel piece that clips on and around the front of the bolt. The extractor itself is on the right side of the bolt, (the handle side), and appears to be fine. The opposite side of this spring steel piece is what's broken and I don't have the missing piece. I presume that it acts as the ejector but I don't know. Is it shaped the same as the other side? Anyone know where I can find a parts dia.?
Thanks again

Hi caper,
I have a model 81, which I think is the tube mag version. Here are some pics of my bolt - it is likely the same as yours. The missing side of your part appears to just latch onto the other side of the rim. On bolt cycling, the tube mag lifter looks like it pushes this piece outwards and the lifter would also hit the rim for ejection. Your magazine follower may perform the same function as my lifter. Maybe it is for controlled feeding? I'm not sure, my 81 has a broken mag follower so I've never shot it.
