Marlin one piece firing pin

Have a Marlin 1895 GS with the 2 pc firing pin. Has anyone converted to a 1 pc?
Is there any advantage to converting?

I can't comment on the advantages of converting, although I recall it is a sometimes done for cowboy action shooting. Considering how the two piece firing pin adds some resistance to closing the lever (the locking lug, cammed up by the lever, must compress the firing pin disconnector spring), I'll guess that a one piece firing pin helps improve the smoothness/quickness of the cycling. There may also be a modest improvement on lock time since less mass is involved in the firing pin.

That being said, the two piece firing pin is a safety feature, which prevents the rifle from firing if the locking lug is missing (e.g., incorrect reassembly). I would think on a rifle like the 1895GS, there'd not be much practical value in going to the one piece. In the dozens of Marlins that I've used, I've never had any issue with the firing pin operation that would prompt me to convert.
