Though they do not meet your floating requirement, Browning makes a beautiful takedown semi auto and Norinco makes a copy of it. Just get a floating case or put some waterwings on it.

yeah, i looked at the norc, but i just dont like tube mags. anyone have some closeup pics of the receiver's of the papoose and AR7,

do the barrels thread on? looks like a nut to me.

The Ar-7 uses a nut over the threaded part of the receiver, which houses the barrel.

Almost exactly the same, knurled Threaded ring threads over the reciever. The AR7 is aactually a little easier in this regard (ring is larger diameter)

no sling studs on the Ar-7 though.....cause once im off the canoe/outa the truck/ ect ect its kinda nice to be able to use both hands if im carrying some bait to a tree stand pre-season, or walking into a campsite.

so yeah, im still absolutley undecided, but i dont know anyone in moncton (new brunswick) has either rifle....ill ask around my gun club tommoow night, see if someone has one i can borrow, be real nice to handle the actual guns before making a decision.

Has anyone come across a manufacturer of 12ga to 22LR insert barrel........longer one with a little better accuracy. I have tried the little 4" versions with poor results......

Heheh yes it’s an old post, Mike you can start new threads (questions etc.) by hitting “post thread” instead of hijacking off topic old ones heheh, BTW welcome to cgn! Hope this helps.

Edit:Sorry I don’t have any experience with the 12 ga inserts.
