Marlin recall

Marlin Arms was purchased by "Freedom Group" and moved to a new CNC facility in New York State, but quality control is non-existent. Hopefully they will get their act together for next year.

Went to LeBaron today and was told that all the Marlin levers were recalled for poor quality issues.

Sorry if this is a repost.

I wish I knew that before I bought one from them. It went straight to Gravel Agency for feeding problems! I hope Remlin decides to sell off Marlin to some rich a-hole that can revive the company back to what it once was !

So if I had a marlin bougt in august I can send it back through the recall?

Yeah - I'd like to know, too. I have a friend who bought her first rifle - a 336. I was the first to shoot it, open sights. By the time I was done, I had drifted the front over far enough that the hoop wouldn't slide back on (about 3/16").

My brother inlaw bought one last week, went to the range with him to sight it in,every time he levered a new round two would pop up into the reciever. Nice looking gun,but the whole
situation was laughable.

i have 2 of the older marlins a 3030 and a 44mag. the quality is good and i will not be buying any of the new ones.

I have the older Marlin 336 (I believe so because I experienced only smooth feeding and
excellent accuracy with a Skinner sight at 100 yard).

My experiences with newer marlin is rather poor (such as a 39A).

If you want to know for sure, just check the left side of the barrel by the receiver and see if its stamped "JM" or "REP". JM means it was made before Remington got their hands on them, and REP means after Rem got involved.

i bought a 1895GBL in january that had nothing wrong with it except the extra dovetail cut in the barrel.

i sent it back to epps no questions asked and in february i found one locally that was sans dovetail and bought it.

its been awesome. maybe i just got real lucky but there is at least one quality marlin that has come from the REP plant.

Guess I have to put it out there, I have a 2010 1894CS and never ever has it ####ed up on me/ect.

.38 or .357 shoots and cycles perfect from the gun.

Guess I got a Monday gun and not a Friday one.
