Marlin vs henry

I prefer Henry, I have owned both brands, I prefer tube loading and I don't like the fatter forearm on the Marlin, both are a good choice.

if you can wait for a cold hammer forged marlin, I think you would be pretty happy with it.

really hoping they being back the 39a

Honestly, at this point buy whichever one you see in stock first. I personally own a 4570 Marlin and am a happy customer. I look forward to the new Ruger-Marlin products and will likely pick up a pistol caliber rifle from them.

I would agree.. probably both good options, if you can find either one in whichever caliber you want. I'm very excited to see how well Ruger does with the Marlin brand, I expect they will do a better job overall than Remington did. Guess we might get lucky and start seeing stuff from Ruger/Marlin starting next year.

If you can find a good recent Marlin I think they are marginally the better gun, but Henry is more consistent. Regarding Henry, I've had some of their 22s and though the fit and finish was questionable on some of them. The centerfire rifles are very nice.
