Marlin XL7

What do you guys think about this rifle? I"m mainly a wingshooter, but feel the "need" for a rifle. I'll use this for anything with four legs in Ontario.

Thoughts?

awesome gun for the $, compared to the Stevens 200, its a nice finished rifle

Any suggest for some comparable priced glass for it as well? Looking for spend maybe 400ish for the rings and scope.

For general hunting purposes, you can't go wrong with Bushnell 3200 or VXII in a 3-9x40 setting, mounted on Talley's.

I would pick a 3-9x40 VXII and go with some Leupold PRW Weaver style steel rings, they're really nice. The Marlins come with Weaver bases

+1 Leupold is the only way to go.

Dude ........ you're from Ontario. You should be shooting a Remington 7600 like everyone else there.

Does anyone know of a Canadian dealer that has the Marlin XL7 in stock? I am quite interested in the .270, camo stock...... Have done a number of searches, and looked in stores in Winnipeg, but no success yet.
Appreciate any help provided.....
