Marlin XS7 / XS7 Extractors

Are they known to Blow Extractors?

I miss my marlin a little bit, but im Enjoying my Mossberg--
Had that XL7 been a .270 it would of made the trip over here to NZ....

its perfectly suited for the hunting i do back in Aus on the bigger deer, theres not much need for a 30-06 in NZ i dont believe..... :D

WhelenLad,

After some Googling, I would say that the extractors are a weak point on these otherwise excellent rifles. My daughter's XS7 in .243 is still running fine after many years, but I broke the extractor on the son-in-law's XL7 in 30-06 this past weekend on an outing to the range. I shall repair it for him tout de suite.

On another note, I had my newly acquired Mossberg Patriot in .308 Win at the range the same day and discovered that it likes to print little tiny groups with no trouble at all. Great minds...
