I hear that Marlin is coming out with a new rimfire with an adjustable trigger. Also called Lebarons and they are going to get some in stock. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about this new gun.

I was at LeBarons yesterday (Markham) and no sign of them yet. Too bad, their no-tax event ends today. I'm optimistic about them, looking at getting one in .22 mag. I'm a tiny but concerned about the molded-in sling swivel studs, as I plan on using my Harris bipod with mine if I get it. Have to wonder how much strain they could take.

The only thing that keeps me from loving the marlin rimfires is : WHATS WITH THE DUMB 7 round magazines? Who shoots 7 shot groups? 5 shot group, then 2 + reload?
Why pick an arbitrary number like 7 or 4 for a RIMFIRE. I've had 2 marlin rimfires and truth be told, that was the reason I sold both of them. Both shot great, but, no after market magazines available by ANY MAKER other than another 7 shot wonder, and only 7 shots as max?? Nah, just too many reloading cycles for me. Same feeling I get when I am shooting my single action .22 pistol. Lots of time reloading the thing just for 6 shots. Maybe I'm lazy, but I like spending my time at the range shooting, not removing clips after a single group to reload.

Interesting observation. I kind of treat rimfires like I do shotguns or centerfires thoough, in the sense that I don't get too big a charge out of the ammo "dump". Probably why I can't be bothered with semi-autos. (I might be eating those words if the Kel Tec SU-22s ever end-up here :) )

Anyhow, it sure isn't a criticism. With so many rimfire options out there...one can afford to have preferences!

Most rimfire bolt's I came across had 5-10rnds. Fondled some nice classic wood stock ones and came closed to buying but couldn't get past the low capacity.
I ended up buying a Marlin 981T (17rnds of .22lr in the tube). Would have liked a wood stock but the synthetic one isn't too bad.
I read some not so good reviews on the trigger but I don't see what the big deal is. Has gone bang everytime I pulled it and while it hasn't been ammo picky it doesn't like to cycle snap caps (for some reason).
I'd be interested in the XT trigger pros & cons.

Lebarons does carry a Marlin 10 rnd nickel plated clip for bolts & post 1998 semis. Code 71902 for $15.

I'd really like one of the XT22R's for my young lad, but apparently Lebarons (Markham) is having trouble getting them from Marlin. Anyone know if they are available through the web store??

Still none at LeBarons

I decided to give the LeBaron Order Desk a call this morning and see if they had any of the XT's in Montreal.

The young lady told me that they are expecting a shipment in very soon, but had no ETA. She suggested I try back in a couple of weeks.....

Will update after my next call. :HR:

XT Availablity

I haev learned the XT series is brand new for 2011, and no one seems to have much or any selection and there is no indication on when they will be widely available

Actually looking at Marlin's site I think I'm going to have a hard time choosing between these 3

Still no joy at Lebarons

I went by the Markham store at lunch today to pickup some new scope rings. They still don't have anyXT's in, BUT at least they said they'd put one on order for me if I wanted. I said I'll hold off for a couple more weeks and check back.
