I was really pumped at the idea of getting one (the $ very attractive) to save about $100 on the Savage 93FV I had my eye on. Truth is, when I finally held it, I wasn't overly impressed. For a $202 gun, I'd bet it's EXCELLENT value and to me honest, I'd have no hesitation buying a Marlin...but I ended-up choosing the Savage instead. They're both inexpensive/econo rimfires but even at that...the Savage just seemed better built. I've had lots of trigger time with Savages too, so maybe I'm a little biased.
It crossed my mind that it would be an excellent/light carry rifle...one you wouldn't mind getting rained on, etc. With time, I'm leaning towards lower-maintenance things in my life, so synthetic stocks are holding more appeal for me than ever. Hate the thought of scratching a beautiful chunk of walnut!
