Hey guys, looking for an opinion. I spend allot of time on gun forums, especially here and RFC, and there just seems to be next-to-NO discussion on these rifles. A few QC issues with the fitting of the wood-stocked versions...that's almost it. Any thoughts as to why? Are they any good? I like my Savages, but the XT17 VR I held seemed to be a "nicer" econo .17 HMR than the Savage 9317.

Any love for these, or do they not measure-up? I know there is a ton of love for older Marlins, but I just haven't read anything really good OR really bad about these...not looking to be the guinea pig! :)

I'm curious also... I've read a few pretty good reviews but not much buzz for sure. I have a feeling people are scared away by remingtons bad rep for QC. I think they are the same as the old rimfires with a better trigger, so they should be good I think... Hopefully someone chimes in with a review.

When I get mine (Planning on a .22lr and .22 WMR) and shoot 'em for a bit, I'll give a review. I am a little apprehensive about getting them, as I have read some good but also some bad (QC issues). I guess for $200 a piece, you take your chances. In terms of accuracy, I hear they are very good. Nice long barrel (quieter). Gonna throw some tech sights on them I think. I kind of got put on to the XT series after I watched a review by the Nutnfancy project:

Maybe because there's some many bolt gun 22's out there, there's nothing to get a buzz about. Build a quality new semi and there's sure to be buzz as there are fewer to pic from.

If you find a distributor for marlin tech sights in Canada please let us know. I have been unable to find anyone who carries them up here. You can get them for ruger 10/22 and sks', but not marlins.

Edit::

I emailed High Caliber Services Corp. (They only listed the SKS and Ruger 10/22 sights on their site) and asked if they would do a special order of the MXT200 sights. The guy responded that they can get that sight set, and it goes for $98.

That's huge news dude... a lot of people are going to be very happy about this!

I know I am happy. I was kind of bummed when you had mentioned nobody was bringing them in. I am glad I didn't have to go to plan B (which might not have been feasible anyway, but I was going to do my best). I wonder if this warrants a new thread, to let the others know?

Id say so.
