A Marlin in 35 Rem can be rechambered to 358 Win, and will feed, fire, and extract properly without any other alterations. Guess how I know!

I had the taste buds for a BLR in the 358 but wanted one with the pistol grip or
the non foreward barrel band.
Then the reading on the goofy trigger pull and I just don't like hard pulling triggers.
They sort of pizz me off.
I just aquired a Marlin 336 in the 30-30 and I just adore this lever.
Feels right, shoulders well and the trigger is a pleasure.
I guess one can't make this into the 356?
What would the 35 Rem compare to?
Thanks for the info.
Looky.
If your happy with a Marlin, your easy to please.Better guns than that available.Try a Model 88,Iam sure you will be pleased...
??? - Marlin lever guns IMO right up there with lots more spendy ones. Never had an 88 so I got nothing to say about how good or bad they might be. But I sure don't think it's accurate to characterise Marlin levers as some kind of low rent piece for which only someone who is "easy to please" settles. They are very fine rifles with solid hunting DNA (the Remlins of late maybe not so much). I'm a proud Marlin owner and use mine routinely. I got "better ones" which do get out hunting too. But I wouldn't care a bit if I had only a Marlin lever the rest of my days.If your happy with a Marlin, your easy to please. Better guns than that available...
What makes you think he would be pleased with an 88?
I sure as hell wouldn't be. I consider an 88 to be a miserable, awkward shaped rifle to shoot.
I don't like them one bit.
LMAO............I bet gtrussell shoots an 88.....![]()
Don't believe ya................
