marstar 70,000/10,000 SKS, eta aug 20th, price $189 new military.

There's already a glut of Russian SKS's in Canada. This could get a few more folks shooting SKS's, but will bring the price down for sure. All this assumes a steady supply of milsurp 7.62x39. A few years ago a new Norinco was moving along at a good pace for $149. If the 70,000 all end up in Canada (doubtful) the price point would have to be just over $100 IMO, more for "special" models. I'm not talking the Yugo 59/66 which is a pig (the M59 is nice), I mean something that's unusual such as an Albanian.

STEVO:
"Do these ones come with lifetime free ammo and buxom cleaning wenches like the Italian M14s?"
Excellent idea, why not....?

BTW, we are still having trouble finding enough virgins for the cleaning crews, but we are working at it....

They are virgins now also!! Where is your pre-order form? Sign me up.

I will take a guess, as to provenance:

- Last batch of Yugo M59/66 imported by Century Arms in the USA within the last year were recently assembled from spare parts.

- Far off land maybe Somalia (said to come from a very wild and woolly place), so probably Russian and Chinese guns.

Which one would have SKS stock piles?

Given that "logic" which recent war has China been involved in ?

Known fact is that they would have had access to massive quantities of Russian SKS's following the Vietnam war .... But I can't think of any other places. Ex-Yugo is possible since they have been recently "pacified", and they would have had access to just about every make/model of European SKS ever produced by then ....

IF John (whom I have met several times along with the rest of the Marstar crew) can bring the price to somewhere between 200 and 300 CAD as long as it includes a crate of ammo, I would seriously consider buying however much 750 or so $ will buy by xmas ... As I have been working my ass off to save the 750 or so $ that P&S is asking for the repro 91/30 snipers for months ....

I'll be saving my buck, it'll be either of these three, Chinese, Yugoslavian or Russian, maybe Albanian or a Romanian in the mix. I'm hoping the Russian's are non refurb so we can finally satisfy Curtton's dieing wish.

And to the guy who said East German, I would sell my left nut for a Karabiner-S.

Curtton..., when the Russian's were coming, I considered you a "Bad, Bad, man!"... With this recent news... I just don't know what to say... I'm simply running out of gun safe space!!! Oh, the travesty, the horror!!! I can actually "feel" another gun safe "coming on"...

Ha ha ha!!! Your rock Curtton! Not to mention johnone! Thumbs up boys!

Cheers
Jay

Gotta love it....I see many fraken guns and home built SKS projects in the works when these come in....low prices mean you don't feel so bad if your project doesn't go the way you intended....:D

Kudos JohnOne:)
