I have been on Marstar's website tons of times and have never ordered anything off it but I do like their products. I am wondering how good their pistols are for their price? I see alot of guys on CGN owning them but how well do they stack up when compared to bigger name companies? I like the 1911 clones they have and also the chinese miltary/police 9mm they have. I am thinking that their prices may be to good to be true. I am wondering if I should buy a pistol off marstar or save up a few hundred more bucks more to get a more "popular" per say pistol?

Not to hi-jack but I hope they get another shipment of NP-29's sometime soon!

I have both a Marstar Norinco NP-29 and a GLOCK17, both 9mm.

The NP-29 has been a great pistol, a very good value for the money. The sights are very small on the NP-29 so eventually I'll get new ones installed and some action tweaking at Armco.

The NP-29 was easily worth the money.

I have had the chance to fire most every make of Norinco pistol in Canada. They are great buys for beginners or as guns to #### around with. I am pretty fond of the Woodsman copy, too bad Marstar has been sold out of them for Eons. The Chinese Police pistol with the cocking trigger guard is about the only one I wholeheartedly recommend against.

I had a NP-30 and would still have it if the ammo wasn't so much. I just didn't shoot it enough to warrent setting up my press for .45 ACP.

Great pistol...

Pretty much 99% of their guns are sold out. Do they get new stock fairly often or just don't up-date their stock on the stie? Or are they actually sold out til further notice?

I own numerous Norinco pistols and love them. I recommend the Sig clones and the 1911 series. Hell I even have fun with the Tok clones.

I also recommend Marstar as a good business to deal with.

I only occasionaly see posts about NP_30's but not tenth as much as other 1911 Norcs.
Are they just not as popular as others or something else,i was considering one as well.

I have a model NP-29 [1911A1] 9mm; the newest series Norc compact [commander] 1911 .45ACP; the all blued new series 1911A1 .45ACP, referred to both as the 'police model' and the 'sport model', and a Norc-in-Stein [Norc 1911A1 frame with Colt USGI slide & all other maker small parts to make a complete 1911 .45ACP].

I never bought any of these personally from Marstar. I'm pretty sure the NP29 originally came from there, though. All are good pistols & am generally happy with them.

Early production norcs had problems with metallurgy stress and fatigue.
I have the M193 and NP40. The M193 not so great but a good plinker. The NP40 I friggin Love!

I might as well throw my hat in the ring, too. I have an NP-29 (1911, worked over by Dlask) and an NP-34 (228 clone). Both function flawlessly and are far more accurate than I am. Finish is perhaps a touch rough, but not at all terrible and more than adequate for my uses. I am impatiently waiting for Marstar to get a new batch of HP-9 shotguns in and I will be adding one of those to my safe as well.

I bought both pistols used, but have bought magazines from Marstar and received great service on that order. I will buy more from them in the future without hesitation.

Marstar is excellent to deal with. Great service. I purchased my first 9mm from them. A NP-20 . Fun to shoot, but not a very accurate compared to my XD-9 Tactical.

I called them last week inquiring on the NP-29 availability. I was told they could possibly be receiving a 1911 shipment from China in late Oct. In any case, they took my name & number and said they would call when they got some in.

^ I am going to buy one as a project 1911 as my .45 Colt is cherry now the 9mm Colts are all sold. Unless NAA wants to sell me his Colt Commander 9mm;)

What's the grip like on the NP29??? Smaller than the .45ACP's? I can't quite tell from pictures and I've never obviously held one. Thanks.

Should be the same as any single stack 1911. I have one and it feels like the rest to me. I have not held the 29 and a 45 side by side to compare, though.
