Sorry if there is another thread for this. I searched and searched but I could not find a review on the Marstar Chassis for the M14.

It looks to me to be a copy of the Sage but without a grip and stock. I actually like the fact it does not come with these as I would put a Mugpul stock on the gun.

I hope that the reason I could not find any info on the chassis is because Marstar is a site sponsor and the chassis is "not all it could be".

I like m14 doctors stocks as well but I kinda want the aluminum chassis for the "shock and awe". Yes it is childish, but what can you do?

Thanks

For $300 more you can get a real sage with interchangeable grips and an AR stock adaptor like the AKM.

the AKM is nice, but personally I was not impressed with the machining in places.

Thanks for the replies, I kinda thought this might be the case.
Time to save more dough I suppose.

One more question,
A local gun store has 7 Norinco m14's in stock at 499.00 This is 100 more than Marstar and only a 3 month warranty. I am not in a huge hurry so is waiting for Marstar to get more in a good idea, what with a lower price (maybe not with shipping) and a better warranty?

And no I am not going to name the store till after I buy one

I've only seen a couple examples of the fiberglass m14 stocks available. I don't like that they are very rough looking before excessive filler is used to smooth the surface. Reminds me of body shops that fill a car with bondo instead of pulling a dent like they are supposed to. Bondo, or even the fiberglass filler might be tough but it still seems kind of tacky to me.

I have no seen any of the production level examples though.

The sage, and the Troy are gorgous but make the rifle too heavy for my taste.

I have no experience with the AKM.

marstar's latest offering is a preorder of the m14 with the synthetic stock at 429$
it has 2 mags and the warranty.

I like to deal with marstar, that's why i put a pre-order

I got a nice chunk of carbon fiber I found, I plan on making a chassis out of this for my m14 that's on the way. Anyone ever try this material? Strong like steel and light as aluminum!

Might be a cuent to mill it out. I would think its sorta like fiberglass resin, no?

I milled a scrap chunk that I got with a carbide endmill and it cut fine, not sure how to make it look pretty again after machining, research!
