marstar delux m14 mount

It's not in the reciever at all, The pin has always been stuck in the part of that mount that slides into the dovetail. I was trying to get the pin out before putting that in so I could tap the pin up from the bottom of the reciever and into the back part of the scope mount. Not your fault, definetly mine. Without you telling me what you did I would have a clue how it works yet.

It shouldn't be too big a deal to get another pin from marstar, or I could use the Norinco one that came out of the stripper clip guide. First thing first still I gotta get the pin out of that little part of the mount. I'll just take it to lever arms or something and get them to try and fix up my mistake, I'm sure they've seen people F**k up worse.

There's always something worse!

Lever should have a good idea what to do, and hopefully the people working there aren't in a bad mood that day and you can explain what you need. The work seems good from what I've seen(slicked up TOK)

Well the steel punch bent slightly, the pin did move out of the hole AT ALL, and the pin ended up bent by the time I was done.....that f**kin pin is stuck in there real good. That's just the part of the mount that goes into the dovetail. I'm only trying to get the pin out of that part, I havent even tried getting it into the receiver yet.....stupid thing. I'll ask marstar for another pin and see if I can find a machinist or gunsmith to get that pin out.

A month back I was having a hard time getting the pin out. I put the gun up on a few 2x4 blocks. I tried using an allen key as a punch, but the pin didn't budge and I was afraid of breaking the key. I ended up using a finishing nail put in backwards. The head end worked fine. I soaked the thing in 3 in 1 oil first. I did have to hit hard (ball and peen) but it eventually budged.

Remember dovetail will only slide out to the left (if the gun is facing away from you).

I had to sand the new dovetail from the mount (Smith) after this in order to get it to slide in.

Hope this helps. Merry Christmas to all.

i might just get the gunsmith to do this one anyone recommend a good one for m-14's?
WTH?...

...Gunsmith to put a scope mount on an M14???

Lol, gonna hire him to load the mag, chamber a round and fire it for you?:p

Just bugging you, seriously though, it's pretty simple to remove the clip guide and install a mount. I own one of just about every mount type available and haven't had a problem installing any of them.
