Marstar didn't Give up YET!

All they are doing is creating a headache for themselves and their customers. It's sort of sad they can't tell time?? They are still doing transfers because they think the cutoff is noon today. It is not...

well, it the "sales receipt" is dated before today (12:01am) then it can still go through....

According to what? If the reference number isn't dated before 12:01am I am almost certain it will be denied. The transfer number is the "proof of purchase"(quote from the CSAAA release). If they will be accepting receipts then I can only imagine the absolute cluster #### that will turn into.

Marstar threw in the towel. They pulled all their handguns and their announcement from their site

cause they realized they were wrong...lol

email from CCFR:

In a series of press conferences today, culminating with the Prime Minister and Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino in Vancouver, the Liberal government has announced that the handgun freeze has come into effect as of today at 12:01am EST.

This freeze was initially proposed as part of Bill C-21 which is currently being studied by SECU at the committee stage.

As of 12:01 AM EST this morning:

Any handguns transferred before 12:01 AM EST this morning (21-Oct-2022) will be processed as usual with proof of purchase before the 12:01 AM cutoff.
Any transfers started AFTER will be reviewed to see if the individual (buyer) is exempt. The individual will be contacted upon review by the CFO for proof that they meet the requirements for exemption.
Handguns “pre-purchased” by individuals while the RPAL was being processed, will not be processed or “grandfathered in”.
RPAL licenses processed after the freeze will not be refunded IF the individual decides to cancel the application.

And in spite of the Liberals usual claims (which so often have no basis in reality), looks like we have until Nov 9th as they didn't follow procedure. - dan
