When I asked one of my unoin buddies that works the port why they don't accept explosive cargo he said...
"To many pot heads and criminals work at the port of vancouver thats the real reason why!"
Quote from a man named Micheal from the port of vancouver.
i've got a few ilwu local 500 vancouver longshoreman buddies who would just love for you to utter those words in front of them
and being that i'm a longshoreman..... and we handle lots of cargo marked dangerous... corrosive, explosive, biohazardous, radiaoactive......... i highly doubt it's due to the "crimminals and potheads". I would supsect some other more "mature" reason would be the cause.
Have you tried Delta port or surrey fraser docks to bring in this cargo?? I find it hard to believe that ammunition would be an "off limits" cargo..... and if it is.... me thinks customs has more to do with it than longshoreman or the port itself.
